Our Story

At Second Chance Coffee Roasters LLC, every bag of coffee tells a story—one of love, rescue, redemption, and fresh starts.
 
Our journey began in February 2021 when we connected through online dating. At the time, Colleen shared her home with four rescue dogs: Rodney, Daisy, Peanut, and Chester. Adam, already a lifelong dog lover, quickly fell in love not only with Colleen but with her four-legged family as well.
 
Over the years, our family has grown and changed. We said goodbye to our beloved Chester, whose memory remains close to our hearts, and welcomed two more rescue dogs, Bella and Bandit. If you've seen our logo, you've already met Bandit—the inspiration behind the face of our company.
 
On April 3, 2026, we were married and officially began our next chapter together. Around the same time, we decided to turn one of Adam's favorite hobbies into a family business. For more than two years, Adam has been home roasting coffee using a Fresh Roast SR800, constantly experimenting with roast profiles and learning how to bring out the best flavor in every bean. What started as a passion soon became a dream: sharing fresh-roasted coffee with our community.
 
The name Second Chance Coffee Roasters carries deep meaning for us.
 
First and foremost, it honors the rescue dogs that have enriched our lives. We believe every pet deserves a loving home and a second chance. To support that mission, we are committed to donating 5% of our annual profits to local animal rescue organizations.
 
The name also reflects our own journey. As two people who experienced divorce, we feel incredibly grateful for the second chance at love that brought us together. It also represents Adam's personal journey of recovery and renewal after becoming sober from alcohol in June 2020—a life-changing second chance that made this business possible.
 
Most importantly, we believe that everyone deserves a second chance. Whether it's a rescue dog finding a forever home, two people finding love when they least expect it, someone rebuilding their life, or simply enjoying another cup of great coffee, second chances matter.
 
That's why we carefully roast every batch with the same values that inspired our name: hope, gratitude, perseverance, and community.
 
Because everyone deserves a second chance—and every good cup of coffee deserves a second sip.
